Our Misson
Equipping spiritual leaders for planting and strengthening churches in the Arab World.
This is summarized:
Equipping Arab leaders for the Arab world.
Our Vision
Provide both formal accredited bachelor, master and doctoral programs, as well as non-formal training programs, through a variety of delivery methods with field training.

Our Story
The Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary (JETS) was founded in 1991 in Amman, Jordan, with a bold vision to equip Arab Christian leaders for ministry throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
At that time, few theological institutions existed in the Arab world, and almost none provided formal, accredited training for evangelical pastors. In response to this need, Dr. Imad Shehadeh, a Jordanian scholar trained in the United States, established JETS to offer rigorous, Bible-centered education in the Arabic language and within the Arab cultural context.
From its modest beginnings with a handful of students, JETS has grown into a respected theological institution serving the wider Arabic-speaking world. Today, it offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees, and operates as one of only a few evangelical seminaries in the region.
Over the past three decades, JETS has produced more than 600 graduates serving in 22 Arabic-speaking countries, reaching thousands through local churches, refugee ministries, publishing, and online theological education. Its alumni lead and teach in some of the most challenging and restricted nations on earth, where public Christian ministry is often prohibited.
Our Founder
& President
Dr. Imad Shehadeh is the founder and president of the Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary (JETS) in Amman, Jordan. A native of the Middle East, Dr. Shehadeh sensed God’s call to establish a seminary that would equip Arab men and women to serve Christ in their own language and culture.
After earning advanced theological degrees in the United States, he returned to Jordan in 1991 to begin JETS with just a handful of students and a vision to strengthen the Church across the Arab world. Under his leadership, JETS has grown into one of the region’s most respected evangelical seminaries, training hundreds of graduates who now serve faithfully in 22 Arabic-speaking countries.
